Residual Solvents

Residual solvent testing for Cannabis concentrates and extracts is required by OAR 333-007- 0300 and OAR 333-007-0410 effective since October 2016. Not only has OG Analytical been accredited to provide this service since September 2016, but both our CEO, Bethany Sherman, and lab director, Rodger Voelker, participated in discussions with the Oregon Health Authority to determine which solvents to regulate (1).

To accurately quantify all 45 residual solvents required by the OLCC, OG Analytical uses our Agilent 6890 GC with Agilent 5973 Mass Spectrometer coupled with a Perkin Elmer Turbomatrix HS40 Headspace Analyzer. This process is based on guidelines put in place by the International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use, which makes recommendations as to what amounts of residual solvents are considered safe in pharmaceuticals (2), as well as methods published by the US Pharmacopeia, a federally recognized organization that helps companies ensure compliance with FDA regulation.

With proven scientific methods and experienced scientists backing our results, OG Analytical is confident in providing you with high quality, verified test results every time.
